Masjid Sharif
This mosque was built during the reign of Mohammad Zahir Shah – the former king of Afghanistan – in the month of Saran 1353 AH.
History: The main building of the mosque was old and had a historical stone inscription that was nearly 89 years old. After the mosque building was demolished, it was handed over to the Directorate of Information and Culture for preservation.
Due to the expansion of the city and the need for more space for worshipers, the old mosque building was demolished and its remains (including the stone inscription) are now kept in the Department of Cultural Heritage.
